Garbonzo bean/chickpea soup with Spanish chorizo

This is my made up recipe using my childhood remembrances and Cuban background as a reference.

2 cans drained of garbanzo beans/aka chickpeas
Plenty of sliced or diced onion, bell pepper and garlic
Several bay leaves
4 small Spanish dry cured (not Mexican) chorizo sausages
3 potatoes
Sufficient water, salt and cooking wine,
A can of diced tomatoes or a small amount of tomato paste…
